Mail order brides – who are they?

June 11th, 2009

During recent time a number of men seeking for their Russian bride increased greatly. Today thereare a lot of online forums dedicated to Russian dating, Western men tell there either about their success in using Russian matchmaking services or fails and meeting Russian scams. A word combination «Russian scam» usually means a woman who is using the foreigners as the way to get Visa and to escape from Russia. These can be either independent girls working alone (they may have their own families and can live happily with their husbands), or a matchmaking services. There are many women who will try to take advantage of a foreigner trying to find love. They want to use their good looks to pretend to have a relationship that they only want as a tool to get out of their country. These women just want a fake marriage which will give them a chance to move to a Western country. Sometimes after they do get their Visa they stay longer and find another man that suits them better.You should never forget about it while looking for a Russian bride.

However, there are plenty of kind and caring girls, who want to find their true love. These ladies are dreaming about a romantic relationship and eternal love. Most reliable and truthworthing matchmaking services do their best to remove all the fake profiles. These agencies do this by requesting the women fill out very extensive questionnaires, to reveal their real age, background, some document that can assure their identity and marital status, as well as explaining their motivation in signing up for a matchmaking service to find a foreign man. This really does eliminate the women who are just trying to scam you.

The term "Mail order bride" is insulting to Russian women in general because they don't want to be perceived like that. It is a term that is compared with shopping through a catalog and picking your product and then purchasing it. It's not something that they are looking for. They want men to know that dating a real Russian woman is challenging. Also, they know that the promise of a better life in the United States or the U.K. is no longer the "holy grail" as they once thought it was. Russian ladies know what is going on in Western Cultures and they know that it is not as grand as they once thought.

Matchmaking services have improved over the years, and the term Russian mail order brides means more than just a few letters and picture of a woman. It means real interactive communication with the woman that you are interested in, may be even your future bride. Agents are aware and more experienced when it comes to finding the best match for you, and their goal is to do that. They know about the Russian scams and they are trying to do their best to get rid of them completely.

Before starting your Russian bride search, you should explain to your matchmaker what you are really looking for. Specify what type of profile you are looking for and why. Men sometimes are searching for a bride in Russia just for a thrill of meeting a lady who is different than what they are used to see at home. The truth is, the women have real feelings and want someone who is interested in true love and marriage. These women are hoping you might be the one to treat them well, and respect them. Marriage is a serious step and taking on a Russian bride is not a game. If you are only looking for a temporary date or a one night stand then it is better to make this clear right from the beginning. Otherwise you can risk ending up with someone that loves you but you will never love. Russian ladies in love are very loyal and you might feel bad about eventually having to hurt her feelings. There are many examples of very successful relationships between Russian women and foreigners.

Just make sure of what you are looking for. Learn to read between the lines to see if the woman is really interested in communication with you. Get to know her well before asking her to marry you, and make sure she is the one you will truely love.

Avoiding the Creative Crimes of the Century

June 11th, 2009

Criminals are increasingly creative in the methods by which they steal your identity, your money, and your life. They are usually several steps ahead of the average consumer. With how many of the following "creative" schemes are you familiar?

* "Dumpster-diving"

* "Mail theft"

*"Pharming"

* "Phishing"

* "Skimming"

* "Shoulder-surfing"

One of the positive things criminals have done, if I may say so, is add "creative" terms to our vocabulary. It always amazes me how intelligent and creative criminals can be! - Always one step ahead of their next victim, and ultimately, the law!

Whether they go after your mail, or go "dumpster-diving", or go "shoulder surfing", or "pharming", the end results are always the same: They become successful over another innocent victim!

Identity criminals are basically lazy people, in my opinion. Rather than getting a legitimate job, they would rather come up with "creative" schemes to part their victims from their personal information and their money.

One of the laziest ways they steal our identity, usually with our unwitting help, is through "Dumpster-diving". They simply sort through a person's trash for paper records such as credit card offers, bank statements, past paid bills, or anything that has your personal and financial information. Sometimes they can obtain a full profile of us from separate documents (such as church records, car repair records, personal letters, medical records, etc.) they find. And businesses as well as consumers fall victim to this one form of theft.

Mail theft is a low-tech method lazy criminals use to go after your personal and financial information. As with "dumpster-diving", it another easy way for criminals to get what they want with hardly any effort on their part, thanks to our unwitting help. For example, we leave a red flag on our mailbox to alert the mail carrier that there is out-going mail to be picked up. Or the mail carrier might do likewise to alert us to pick up our mail. Unfortunately, criminals love this because they tell them that the mailbox is ripe for the picking. A friend of mines calls this "The Low-Handing Fruit Scheme".

"Shoulder-surfing" is a low-tech, low-touch technique criminals use to get your information - and they boldly do so in public places usually right under our noses or over our shoulders. Typically they would watch or listen carefully as we key our credit card number or password into a keypad, or give our account number over the telephone. And don't for a moment think that they have to be standing within earshot to steal your info. No!

Sophisticated shoulder surfers have been known to use bioculars, telescopes, or super-sensitive listening devices to steal your info from across the room or across the street. Sometimes they will record the sounds for accurate playback. Recording of the keypad sounds help them analyze those tones for replicated PIN numbers and passwords. Some criminals standing nearby may even use their camera-cellphone to record the numbers they see or take a picture over your shoulder.

"Pharming" comes in several version. I'll just discuss one here. Similar to "Phishing", "Pharming" is an electronic scam in which criminals attempt to steal personal and financial information from numerous people simultaneously through something known as "Domain Spooling". Here the hackers take over a DNS server and redirect user information to a new website that they use to gather illegal information.

"Phishing" also bears mentioning here. It is a scam in which you, the consumer, are tricked into entering your personal and financial information (account numbers, Social Security number, PIN number, password, etc.) via a bogus email and website form. The email looks as if it was sent from a company with whom most consumers may have an affiliation, such as AOL ®, PayPal ®, eBay ®, or a major bank or credit card company; but, in reality, are nothing more than identity thieves hiding behind the email.

"Skimming" is a another growing identity theft scam where criminals quickly and temporarily steal a credit card and run it through a credit card reader known as a skimmer that has been reprogrammed to steal information off the card. Often, this takes place at a hectic retail store where a consumer might not notice that their credit card has been taken from them for a few moments.

And the list goes on. I'm sure that by the time you read this, there will be several new types to describe new and creative way these cybercriminals have come up with to part you from your personal information and your money. It's seem to be a losing battle - but don't give up hope yet.

The Muscle Car Craze

June 11th, 2009

Somebody once asked me why I was so fascinated with muscle cars. You know, it’s hard for an outsider looking in to understand why we muscle car lovers are so fanatical about our cars. Until they’ve been behind the wheel of a newly restored ’66 Pontiac GTO, they just haven’t a clue.

Why is it that we can browse through muscle car advertisements for hours on end? Why do we have to go to every muscle car show that comes near our town? Why do we drive out of our way to see some of the hottest muscle cars around? Why do we seemingly pour all of our extra money into our muscle cars?

Some people think a passion for muscle cars comes from peer pressure – a need to impress other people per se. As a muscle car enthusiast I can honestly say that’s not it, at least not for me. My interest in muscle cars dates way back to before I was ever concerned about what anybody thought. I have always found muscle cars to be fascinating and exciting.

First, muscle cars are original. Those who collect or restore muscle cars put their heart and soul into their hobby which makes every muscle car truly unique. Second, muscle cars are powerful. There’s nothing that gets the adrenaline pumping quite like sitting behind the wheel of a classic, high-performance muscle car. Third, when you take a classic car, restore it and muscle it up, you really have something to be proud of. It’s a lot like an artistic ability for me – like taking a blank canvas and creating an incredible piece of art out of it.

One thing is for certain, regardless of the reason a muscle car devotee is interested in muscle cars, we all seem to talk the same talk and walk the same walk. Dealing with muscle cars is an incredible social outlet. Whether we collect, restore, show, or race our muscle cars, it doesn’t matter. We’re all on the same wavelength and we truly enjoy looking at and chatting about muscle cars.

Some enthusiasts have specific lines of muscle cars that they are interested in, while others are just crazy about muscle cars in general. Some like imports, others like exports, and most all muscle car enthusiasts have a strong interest in classics. We can look at them, talk about them, drive them, or just work on them. Muscle cars give us something to look forward to, something fun to invest our time and money into, and the muscle car hobby keeps us out of trouble – for the most part.

Something New With The Volvo XC90

June 11th, 2009

A quick history on the Volvo XC90. What is it?

The Volvo XC90 is actually a crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) and it is offered as a luxury SUV and is midsize. It has been created with the Volvo P2 platform that other Volvo vehicles also use. This vehicle is quite a sensation in the auto world in the United States for sales have been very kind to it. The Volvo XC90 has been created and produced by Volvo Car Corporation and the Ford Motor Company since 2003. Considered as its competition in the vehicle market are the BMW X5, Acura MDX, and the Infiniti FX.

And now, the Volvo has just announced that the existing Volvo XC90 line of vehicles would soon be welcoming a new variant. And they would be calling it the Volvo XC90 Sport. The company claims that this is all because of the demand from Volvo XC90 customers. And this new SUV would be offering consumers a dynamic chassis setting. It also would boast of a newer appearance plus, of course, added specifications.

According to Karin Falk, who is the head of the Special Vehicles division of Volvo Cars, “We have had numerous requests for a sportier XC90. They are from customers who appreciate the versatility and comfort of an SUV but who also want a bit more driving pleasure. We have developed the Volvo XC90 Sport especially for them, with a dynamic sport chassis, stiffer anti-roll bars, firmer shock absorbers, a sport-tuned, speed dependent steering system, and larger 19 inch wheels.”

Customers are sure demanding for a newer Volvo XC90 for it cannot be denied that the market’s preferences and lifestyles are changing. And with the sportier Volvo XC90, it sure goes to show that Volvo is listening to what their market is telling them. Stores that sell Volvo C70 custom parts and other Volvo products must be ready to supply replacement parts and accessories for this new Volvo crossover SUV.

Successful Online Dating Tips

June 10th, 2009

A few do's and don'ts of online dating

If you are new to the world of online dating and don't know its finer nuances, then you need to keep the following points in mind:

1. Create a screen name that is interesting. Avoid using one that is too sexy or hints at marriage. A screen name that includes your name should also be avoided. A screen name that is based on your looks may be most appealing to men.

2. You may be tempted to send e-mails to all the attractive guys with your zip code. If you are a little patient you my find that some of those men will contact you. If someone you fancy does not contact you, send him a short e-mail and then wait for him to follow up.

3. Avoid answering any questions you would not answer on a first date. Don't tell your date anything about your income or past relationships. It is not a good idea to tell him about how much you want to get married.

4. Include more than one photograph. Men find the visual aspect much more attractive. If you post many photos, a man will get a better idea about how you look and whether you are his type, before he meets you.

5. Don't communicate with a person who refuses sending you his photograph. He may have something to hide.

6. A person who only sends you his picture or his profile may not be worth a response. If he doesn't have the time to write you an e-mail, it is not worth wasting your time on him.

7. Always wait at least 24 hours before you respond to your date's e-mail. If you respond too quickly, he may get the impression that you are too desperate or that you have too much free time.

8. Don't log on to your personal website or answer e-mails on a Friday or Saturday. You must give the impression that you are not available, even if you are.

9. If a man does not respond, stop e-mailing him. If he is really interested in meeting you, he will contact you and ask you out for a date.

10. If a guy doesn't ask you out even after four e-mails you need to think about where the relationship is going. Keep mentioning that you are going out with friends and consider stopping all communication with him.

11. There is no need to keep your e-mails short. Sticking to three-line e-mails can seem strange to someone who sends you a long e-mail.

Romantic Birthday

June 10th, 2009

You are in love and your beloved's birthday is coming soon. Imagine the explosion of feelings. Already in romance, a person
loses all his sanity. Combine that with birthday of the beloved and you will get a perfect madcap.

I know of a lover who had sent 32 mails to his beloved on her 32nd birthday. He had no chance of sending anything else. It
was difficult to select 32 ecards, and hence all the mails went together, each expressing one particular message of love. Why
does one act like this? It is because of love. Love brings out the best in our nature. We feel on clouds all the time. Waiting to hear the beloveds voice itself becomes a great celebration. Looking at her/him is a bonus, and if one can be together for some time it is as if Gods themselves gifted this. It is romance Free Dating.

A person in love will have the most difficult time on his/her beloveds birthday. What to do? What gift to give? Where to meet? When to meet? Mind goes in a spin thinking of all this. And the feeling of love is the icing on the cake. Till now we have spoken of love. Now let us talk of birthdays. You will find even people well beyond their every age, enjoying their birthday as if there will be no tomorrow. I have always wondered, why the birthday changes everything. The mood is different.

How the day manages to do this trick has always been a question for me. In the case of beloveds birthday, the combination is
of love with birthday. The result as I said earlier is explosive. Enjoy this explosion. Not everyone is lucky.

Enjoy life. Please do not let a single moment of pleasure slip away from your hands. You never know what the next minute will
bring. Life can be treacherous at times. Enjoy the moment with all your might and float in the bliss. The day may never come
again, as it happened with the lover of the story above. He was never given a chance to send 33 mails. The beloved had turned
into his biggest foe. The protector had turned the killer. Let that not happen to anyone again. So please, enjoy. I wouldsay, birthday or no birthday, enjoy your romance at all the times.

4 Tips For Buying The Perfect Fishing Boat

June 9th, 2009

The sun is about to rise and the weather is crisp. You pack your tackle box, grab your pole and buy some worms. You make your way to the fishing dock dreaming you had the perfect fishing boat so you were landlocked no more. Now that dream can become reality with these 4 easy tips for finding and purchasing the perfect fishing boat!

Have a clear understanding of the purpose of the fishing boat. Obviously the boat is going to be used for fishing, but is it going to be used on oceans or in lakes? For day time trips or overnight stays? If you play to stay in your boat overnight, be sure to choose a boat with a hull which will allow you to ride the waves much better than a boat without one.

Make sure to have a clear understanding of your budget. Boats are very expensive items. You should be well acquainted with your finances before you take on the extra burden of a boat purchase. Boats with hulls for overnight stays and rough waters are obviously more expensive than small boats for small lakes. Know your limitations.

Read and understand the warranties fully before making a purchase. A warranty can be your best friend. Make sure the dealer you buy the boat from offers you the proper coverage in case there is any defect or problem with your boat. You don’t want to end up having to pay huge amounts to fix your boat because you forgot to check out the warranties!

Make sure the boat has proper certification .The NMMA, or the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association is an organization that tests boats that are manufactured by different companies. They only certify those boats that pass their rigorous testing. Any boat certified by the NMMA is one that you would feel safe owning.

Also, just like cars, boats must be registered. Be prepared to register your boat just like your vehicle (i.e. paying money). On top of that expense, you must now stock your boat with life jackets, brand new fishing gear, food and a cooler so you can get fishing!

A Brief History Of Porsche

June 9th, 2009

Ferdinand Porsche was an automobile engineer with more than a thousand patents to his name, and played an important role in the development of airplanes and the construction of tanks for the Wehrmacht as well. In the 1920s he was appointed chief engineer at Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart and later set up his own engineering workshop. There he designed, among other things, the Volkswagen. He acted as chief of operations at the plant where the Volkswagen was made, Wolfsburg, and at the end of the war he was interned by the Allies.

He was released a few years later and immediately went to work building his first car with his son, Ferry Porsche. This car was named the Porsche 356, after Ferry, and was a sports car with styling reminiscent of the Volkswagen. In fact it had the same four-cylinder boxer engine, and wore it rear-mounted, just as the VW did. This meant that it was far from being a powerful sports car, boasting a mere 40 bhp and a maximum speed of 87 mph (140 km/h). Distinguished by its elegant and innovative body, the Porsche 356 was first produced as a convertible and then as a hard top. Father and son developed it in the workshop of Erwin Komenda, a master of restrained streamlining who had been in charge of sheet metal and design techniques for Ferdinand Porsche since the VW Beetle. This new style of closed coupe designed by Komenda soon became the embodiment of the sports car, due in part to its "fastback".

Erwin Komenda and Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche, the founder's grandson, continued this tradition with the 911.

The 911 became instantly recognizable: it had an attractive sloping bonnet reminiscent of the 356, what later became characterized as "frog eye" headlights, curves running from the top edge of the windscreen to the rear bumper, and a straight waistline. From a functional and technical point of view it shared more in common with a BMW 1500, but it retained the distinctive stylistic features of the original Porsche. The new 911 became the keystone of Porsche's identity, even though the design was not always fully appreciated. During the 1970's and 1980's, many Porsche designers attempted to distance Porsche from its legendary design and nearly brought the company to the edge of disaster. The more modern 924 model, "a people's Porsche", developed with Volkswagen, as well as the 928 fell short fulfilling expectations, and failed to allow the company to branch out in new directions and styles.

However, in the 1990's the company seemed to realize that what some perceived as a stylistic straitjacket was in fact a market advantage. During this period Porsche embraced the timeless nature of classic styling to become highly profitable. Nearly forty people now worked in the design department solely dedicated to further improvement of the long running 911. Such developments included the 911 GTI, put forward by the in-house designer Anthony R. Hatter as a powerful combination of sports and racing car. In 1999, Porsche's chief designer proudly unveiled the new Boxster, enabling Porsche to establish a second independent range of successful models.
